A moisture-activated liquid polymer from the generic family of Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate (MDI) was studied as a soil stabilizer for poorly graded (SP) sand. The focus of this study was to determine the curing method and mix design to achieve the best performance for stabilized sand. The stabilized sand specimens were cured in combinations of three different environments, i.e., ambient air, heated air, and water, for different curing durations. The results suggested that the sequential curing of the specimen in air for 4 days and water for 4 days led to the maximal strength. Following the determined curing method and duration, specimens prepared with different dosages of polymer and polymer-water ratios (1:2, 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 and polymer only) were further assessed. The results indicated that with a fixed polymer-water ratio the strength of the stabilized sand increased approximately linearly with the increase of the amount of added polymer.
