ارزیابی میزان پایداری با استفاده از یک شاخص ترکیبی

شاخص جامعه پایدار سه ستون اساسی پایداری (‏اقتصاد، محیط‌زیست و توسعه) ‏را برای ۱۵۴ کشور در سراسر جهان ارزیابی می‌کند. این مطالعه، استفاده از کارآیی متقابل به منظور غلبه بر این کاستی‌ها و دستیابی به شاخص پایداری دقیق‌تر را پیشنهاد می‌کند که به کشورها اجازه می‌دهد تا از نظر شرایط محیطی خود و همچنین توسعه اقتصادی و اجتماعی، رتبه‌بندی شوند. سپس دو شاخص پایداری برای اندازه‌گیری جنبه‌های زیست‌محیطی و اقتصادی و اجتماعی تولید می‌شوند.

Highlights•The results confirm the wide sustainable disparities around the world.•Few countries have managed to improve all facets of sustainability.•Economic development is often associated with environmental deterioration.AbstractThe Sustainable Society Index measures the three fundamental pillars of sustainability (the economy, the environment, and development) for154 countries around the world. It assigns the same weighting to all the indicators, without any aggregation of the pillars. This study proposes the use of cross-efficiency in order to overcome these shortcomings and obtain a more accurate sustainability index that allows countries to be ranked in terms of their environmental situation as well as their economic and social development. First, cluster analysis is used to classify the countries into homogeneous groups, according to their environmental position.
