Abstract
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is a frequent complication in immunocompromised
patients with impaired cellular immunity, including recipients of hematopoietic stem
cell transplant (HSCT) and those with hematologic malignancies. CMV disease has
historically been a frequent cause of death after allogeneic HSCT.1
