مراقبت بهداشتی و توریسم: شواهدی از سنگاپور

این مقاله به تحلیل نقش بخش مراقبت‌های بهداشتی در گردشگری بین‌المللی و تاثیر گردشگری بین‌المللی بر وضعیت مراقبت‌های بهداشتی در سنگاپور می‌پردازد. نتایج نشان می‌دهد که یک رابطه علیت یک طرفه طولانی‌مدت از مراقبت‌های بهداشتی به گردشگری بین‌المللی وجود دارد. تاثیر مراقبت‌های بهداشتی بر گردشگری بین‌المللی مثبت است. با این حال، در کوتاه‌مدت، نتایج نشان می‌دهد که هیچ رابطه علی بین این دو متغیر وجود ندارد. نتیجه گرفته شده‌است که تلاش‌های کنونی دولت سنگاپور برای ایجاد سنگاپور به عنوان یک مرکز درمانی پیشرو باعث جذب گردشگران خارجی بیشتر در بلندمدت خواهد شد.

This research note analyses the role of the health care sector in international tourism and the impact of international tourism on the state of health care in Singapore. The results suggest that there is a long-run unidirectional causality from health care to international tourism. The effect of health care on international tourism is positive. However, in the short-run, the results also indicate that there is no causality between these two variables. It is concluded that the current efforts of the Singaporean government to establish Singapore as a leading medical hub will attract more inbound tourists in the long-run.
